Stan Silas created a series of 3 graphic novels under the name Biguden (2 released out of 3). Needless to say I am a huge fan, not only because we share the same name but actually because we share the same mindset: explore Breton folklore treasures and embrace what the world can bring to it.
In Stan Silas’ case, the world takes the shape of a little Japanese girl who washed up on the Brittany coast and was taken in by Goulwen, whose grandmother is the one of the last Bigoudène. There, Breton folklore is fading away, fest noz is old fashioned and the crepe restaurant is not really the place to be, but luckily this Japanese girl is about to become the most powerful bigoudène ever!
I can only recommend reading this manga style breton novel, full of action, real life drama and humor (yes sometimes Bretons do like to make fun of themselves).
